When James was living here, I logged countless hours on the couch. I rarely missed a TV show. Life was predictable, planned and for the most part, set in stone. Since he moved out, my schedule is crazy - so much so that I've actually started to write things down on a calendar so that I won't forget dinner, the cleaning lady or other obligations.
There was a time when I thought that laundry had to be done on Sundays, that we had to go to the grocery store on the weekend, that the kitchen counter absolutely had to be clean. And now that I'm always on the go, I realize that it just doesn't matter.
I have driven across town after 9:00 on a week nights to sit at a bar with friends more in the past few weeks than I have in my entire life, and I don't even drink, really. I have seen midnight more in the past few months than I have in the past couple of years. I have smiled more and laughed louder. I have gone from a pretty regular text messager to one who should have probably thought about cutting back on the messaging rather than upgrading to a phone with a qwerty keyboard that will support the habit.
It's funny how life changes. It's funny how, even if you know the change is coming, you can't fathom it's impact. You can't plan. You can't predict. You just take it one day at a time, and thank all of those around you for their endless love, support, and friendship. Internets and locals, you've been fantastic.
You guys rock.

I was going to get a phone with a full keyboard just for texting purposes too!!! But then I spent $1500 to replace the clutch in my car today... and I don't think I can afford a new phone.
