The First Noel

I love Christmas music. I love Christmas music almost to a fault. My all-time favorite Christmas song is Vince Vance and the Valliants, "All I Want for Christmas Is You".

Sirius Satellite Radio thankfully understands my love of Christmas music and has dedicated not one, not two, but three whole channels to commercial-free Christmas music, all month long. You've got your Christmas country, your traditional favorites, and my favorite, classical Christmas. Just listen to this!

"Featuring traditional holiday music performed by the world’s leading orchestras, choirs and opera stars, and including classic Christmas carols and masterpieces such as Handel’s Messiah and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker"

There are certain classical Christmas songs that I think everyone needs to hear. For instance, how anyone can go through the holidays without A Carnegie Hall Christmas Concert is just beyond me. Frederica Von Stade and Kathleen Battle do the most amazing version of "The Twelve Days Of Christmas."

I am a Messiah lover at any time of the year. I've heard lots of versions, but none is better (to me) than that of the Gabrieli Consort & Players. The articulation is exquisite. The ONLY thing that bugs me about this recording is that instead of, "All we like sheep have gone astray" sounds like, "All we like she have gone astray" and that just doesn't make sense.

I could go on. I'll spare you. :o)

I am in love with Josh Groban, and honestly, Josh Groban is in love with me, he just doesn't know it yet. For me (okay, and for the whole entire world, too - I guess I can share since this is the season of giving), he released a new album, Noel, with which I am in love. On this disc, he has managed to marry two of my favorites - country and classical - in one of my favorite Christmas songs, The First Noel.

Long story short - I think this is a really awesome song, and I think you should give it a listen.

I'm glad the satellite radio is able to accomodate your wacky love for Christmas music. *G*

Ahhh, Christmas music time. I have my favorites too but I lean towards the old-school big-band versions of Christmas tunes.

Chas :

I love Christmas music too. I look forward to it every year.

A loud-laughing twenty-something female who prefers flip flops to all other shoes, yet has a closet full that go unworn. Can often be found in front of a computer screen designing websites or playing "The Sims". Hates messes, cancelled plans and loud volumes. Loves suffocating summer heat, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (now with banana) and friends who know what you’re going to say before you ever open your mouth.

Warning: often speaks too quickly; listen carefully.
