Yesterday was my first day back at work in almost two weeks. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time off, I was ready to get back at it.
The time away from my job has helped me appreciate my job more. In fact, I had this fantastic conversation last night with someone about folks at the office and attitude and just work in general. This got me thinking - I'm pretty darn lucky. I've worked at a place for so long that they think I'm capable of heading up my own team of people. Sure, the extra money is fantastic. The challenges are exciting, not daunting. But it's pretty neat knowing that they trust me enough to take on a position we've never had. I can't help but feel flattered.
My job has it's minuses. What job doesn't? They are far outnumbered, though, but its pluses. I think I forget about those pluses sometimes when the phones are ringing and the clients are upset and the workload is so high, you think, "I can't get this done until I'm eighty years old."
How was your first day back?

Although I'm dressed and ready to leave for work I'm hoping today won't be my first day back, I'm hoping my supervisor will send me back home.

Well, I could look at it two different ways...one being that I'm not going back to work and the other being that I never got a day off :).
