I had an interesting conversation with the new guy in my office last Wednesday who asked what I found to be a really fun question. He asked if I blogged. This isn’t something that comes up. Not many people think to ask about it. I guess, given the industry I’m in, it might occur to people more often than not, but I really can’t recall anyone asking if I blog without being provoked or us already talking about blogging.
This was the tip of the iceberg. We moved from blogging and our love of Google Reader into Facebook, MySpace obsessions, Twitter fascinations, and the insatiable desire to network socially while browsing the web (thanks, Flock).
What did I learn? That I’m not alone. I reluctantly got into Facebook, though admittedly, its fascination has long since worn off. I avoid MySpace like it’s the plague, and honestly, if I can’t find time to blog, how in the hell am I going to find time to Twitter?
I think new generations thrive on social networking, and while I understand that to a degree, all I really want is for Blackberry to come up with a MovableType application so I can post from my cell phone (What? I’m a dork? Yeah, I know. Thanks.). Until then, leave me alone with Google Reader, and I’ll be one happy camper.

I love MySpace :). It's the only way I feel like I can share all my pictures w/ my friends and family w/out putting them several different places.
